Davide Netti's blog

Personal (simple) blog where I publish stuff i'm working on.

    Intro

I’m Davide Netti, an Italian Computer Scientist and hacker in the original sense of the term: someone who loves to understand technology (and more) at a deep level. I have always been passionate about technology and computing. While it hasn’t been my only interest, it is certainly one I’ve cultivated since an early age, eventually moving into basic programming and exploring the world of Android modding and other hardware during my high school years.

    Academic Background

After high school, I realized that computer science could be both an excellent career path and a way to further pursue my passion. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Università del Piemonte Orientale (UPO), with a dissertation focused on Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities, specifically exploring the intersection of hardware/software flaws and side-channel attacks.

I then continued my studies, balancing a full-time career in cybersecurity, by pursuing a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity at the Università degli Studi di Milano (UNIMI), where I graduated with full marks (110/110). My Master’s thesis involved a significant research period within the university’s Department of Computer Science. During this time, I had the privilege of working alongside highly skilled researchers, resulting in a scientific publication and the discovery of several CVEs.

    Industry Background

Throughout my academic journey, I have consistently maintained a full-time professional role in the field. Even before completing my Bachelor’s degree, I began working as a SOC Analyst for a major Italian technology firm. I later transitioned into development and offensive security, first within a startup environment and subsequently in a more structured corporate setting.

I have developed comprehensive expertise across both offensive and defensive security domains. I’ve started my career in the cybersecurity industry in late 2019.
